Did you notice anything different about your Instagram? New features within Instagram’s Direct messaging tab were recently rolled out, including the capability to send photos to 15 people.
If you use Instagram on a daily basis the enhancement provides a better alternative than sending photos via apps like Kik messenger for sfs (share for shares). Since the conversations are threaded it is easier for you to have a conversation and reference photos from people you follow.
With the new Instagram update, you don’t need to create a new conversation every time you send a photo or video since your threads are based on people in them.
According to Instagram out of 300 million users only 85 million people use Direct. Why are the numbers so low? I think it was due to the previous features which were outdated and hard to navigate.
This Instagram update finally allows users to name groups- which Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp have incorporated a long time ago.
This new feature is an attempt to cut down the number of @ mentions below posts and videos to get the attention of others. According to Instagram up to 40 percent of comments below posts are @ mentions.
Instagram users with the 7.5 update can now find an arrow next to the like and comment icons under every post to share it with a friend or a group message, as you can see below.
