You can now archive your expired stories, highlight profiles in Instagram's new updates

Did you know that you can now archive expired stories on Instagram? This is a new update that Instagram recently introduced.

In a blog post Instagram stated that “Today we’re introducing two new tools that let you hold on to your favorite moments from Instagram Stories and share them in ways that help you express yourself. Stories Highlights is a new part of your profile where you can express more of who you are through stories you’ve shared.”

All stories will now be automatically saved into a new private stories archives which lets users  experience them again.

Originally stories on Instagram would disappear after 24 hours which was introduced about a year ago. This new Instagram feature now automatically saves stories to archive when they expire.

How can you access the stories archive? You can tap the archive icon on your profile. From there you can access post archive and your new stories archive and switch between them. The most recent stories will appear in a grid at the bottom.

These new updates are available as part of Instagram version 25 on iOS and Android.
